[Throughout my daughter's week at New Chapter Learning], she had been taught how to orient herself. She told me what had happened after learning about the "orientation point" - she and Sandy walked around to see if there were any changes in perception. She remarked, "Oh look, everything stopped moving!" - What!!!? Moving? Yes, [my daughter's] world moved - which is why she moved with it - to stabilize herself (she had a long history of wiggling around in her seat). When I heard this I burst into tears. My little girl had been experiencing life in a way that I could not imagine. It made me physically ill to imagine objects moving around. Even writing this, it still sounds implausible.

She learned a lot of skills that week. She bonded with Sandy in such a way that I will be forever grateful. "Mom," she said, "I learned that I am a 'brainiac' - I'm really smart!" Yahoo!!! Every test she has taken since that time, where we have had an opportunity to study at home, (because I learned a lot about how she learns) she has gotten an A! She even thinks Math is fun!!! The funny thing is she doesn't even really remember why she went - it has become a part of who she is. Needless to say, we are thrilled that we found the program/Sandy!
